The original West End Telephone Exchange was built in 1913 to accommodate an expanding demand for telephone service in the city. Oliver Exchange will be a new chapter for the building – envisioned as a collaborative mixed-use office, retail and workshop hub for inter-business activity and commerce in the heart of Oliver. While modern amenities and aesthetics will be incorporated into the redevelopment, historical elements will also be preserved to highlight the century old character of this building and safeguard its prominence in the neighbourhood for many years to come.
